Good Tidings To One & All

On Sunday we photographed Kate & Mark’s Wedding, they couldn’t have wished for a more wintery wedding. The photograph above gives you an idea to the volume of snow that fell throughout the whole morning and continued during the ceremony. It didn’t hamper the day in any way, everything ran to plan and everyone had a fantastic time. Expect more pics soon :)

Now seems an appropriate time to wish all my clients, friends, family, lurkers and stalkers (you know who you are :) ) all the very best in the coming season and thank you for making the past year a fantastic one for me. Thank you to the growing number of people following this blog, from small acorns mighty oaks grow and all that! After only a couple of months we are already in triple figures of people coming back on a regular basis. Thank you for all you contributions and seasons greetings.

It’s been a fantastic Christmas season so far, and it feels more like it was when I was a kid than ever. Now where did I put that old sledge….

Wonderful Winter Weddings

Winter

This was the view from my office window this morning, not the most epic winter scene I know but there are worse views in Leeds :)

A brisk walk up the hill to the Post Office confirmed it was bloody freezing, and a day at home editing pictures and playing around with websites was looking rather appealing.

A couple of weeks ago Nicola and I shot Mike & Heathers wedding at the wonderful Stanley House. The weather that day was almost perfect for a winter wedding, and it was most certainly the most perfect wedding.

The best thing about having a Wedding is that the venue has more often than not got all the decorations up. Magic!

I would like to say that the lighting for this shot was planned before hand, but sometime you have to have lady luck on your side, and here the borrowed flash from a guest really makes this the shot of the day for me.

Heather&Mike-0426Come rain or shine, Stanley House looks amazing.

Friends, family and guests can now view a slideshow, watch the Video Diary and even order prints over at Mike & Heather’s Wedding Website.

The Wedding Website will be a feature of all my 2010 weddings, and is included even in the basic package. I’m quite excited with how it’s turned out as I have been developing the idea for a few months now. I’ll be adding new features throughout the year. Each website is formed around a common design, but customisations are available to each wedding, almost anything is possible.

Kate&Mark-0009-Edit

This coming weekend we are photographing Mark & Kate’s Wedding. I have my fingers crossed that this snow sticks. We had a great time at the engagement shoot as you can tell from the picture above, and if the weddings goes as well as the rehearsal on Monday we should all be in for another fantastic day.

A Great Weekend

I’ve been a busy boy over the past few days, and before I start editing all the pictures I thought I’d share a few I spotted during my back up process.

Nicola and I started our long weekend on Friday photographing Mike & Heathers Wedding at Stanley House

IMG_6725

The weather turned out to be just about perfect, it was sunny to start out and nice and moody in the evening for the couple shots. Stanley House is one of those places that you could just keep shooting all day. We had about 40 minutes with the bride and groom during the afternoon where they got to spend a little time together and we got to take some fabulous shots…

I’m not sure if a picture can get any warmer than this. The staff were very kind and made sure the fire was lit in good time for this shot. Of the 3 or 4 locations we chose this one in front of the fire was my favourite, Mike did really well as that fire was damm hot! From the 19th guests at the wedding will be able to view all the pictures and buy prints over at Mike & Heather’s Wedding Website. I’ll also be putting a few more up on here.

We had a nice day off on Saturday, and met up with Caroline & Anthony at Haigh Hall on Sunday for an engagement shoot.

We had a really nice walk around the park for an hour, and again the weather was on our side. Anthony is a chef and will be making their wedding cake, I am really looking forward to visiting him while it’s in progress to capture the moment for the album. It’s sounds like it’s going to be a very special cake indeed.

On Monday Nicola went back to work and I headed over to Harrogate for a day of studio shooting with Joe, Stef, Katy, and Andrew. I’ll do a full write up of the day once I have gone through all the pictures, it was a very interesting day and was lots of fun. My iPhone chucked out some random tunes but we all seemed to settle on cheesy 90′s dance/pop or trance/house/retro dance, which kind of sums up the mood of the day really. Big smiles all round!

joe

Joe is a great model, not only does he have an amazing look but he’s a top bloke too! We worked on several ideas and we stole this boxing theme of an idea Stef came up with :)

stef

Stef worked it all day like the little trooper she is. Here she is doing what she does best, mean and moody. I love it!

katyNot only is Katy a fantastic Make-up and Hair Artist but she a top model too. We decided to totally change her normal look and went for simple eye makeup to match the really cool green contacts she is wearing. I think it really works :)

So I’m going to be an even busier boy now with all those pictures to edit. Thanks to everyone who made this weekend so much fun, I am looking forward to many more like that. More pictures and a full write up of the studio shoot to come…

Heather & Mike – Engagement Shoot

Tomorrow I’m off to the wonderful Stanley House in Mellor, Lancashire to photograph Mike & Heather’s wedding. They have been a great help to me as I developed new ideas and allowed me to use them as a guinea pig for several things. You can see the results over at their Wedding Website which is now part of the standard package I offer to all my wedding clients.

Here are some of the shots taken from a couple of shoots we did for the website…

MikeHeatherBlackpool-0003This series was taken in the typically windswept Blackpool believe it or not. The pictures don’t really show how cold and windy it was!!!

We just caught the light for these shots, the colour is pretty much as it was believe it or not.

I love this picture of Mike, he’s quite the natural.

We can’t wait to get started tomorrow. Heather has planned an amazing day, expect to see pictures in the few week or so. Guests from the wedding will be able to order prints direct from http://www.mikeandheather.co.uk in a couple of weeks.
