Wedding Sample Albums – The Collection

One of the things I have spent a lot of time researching is the right choice of Album to offer to my Wedding Clients. In this digital age the good old album often gets over looked which I think it a sad thing. I spent lots of time talking to suppliers, clients, friends & family trying to decide what is the best option to offer.

After many months of thinking I started the process of making my sample albums late last year. I had decided to only offer the very best I could find in the market while still retaining an affordable price tag. I settled on a more traditional mat album from the new Studio range by Jorgensen Albums Australia (yes they are made in Australia!) and a more modern digitally printed album by UK based Sim2000. Both are amazing quality items each one custom made and hand finished for each client, and they are both priced exactly the same so you can really choose on what you want rather than what you can afford.

I love both styles of album, and both will provide a complete record of the day for start to finish. Each has 20 pages (40 sides) as standard with the option to increase this to 25 pages (50 sides) if you have lots of favourites. There is no limit to the number of images they contain as they are all one offs, designed by me then approved by each client, but typically they contain between 100-150 of the favourite images of the day.

Of course, both albums are computer designed using the latest design software to get a timeless album that won’t age easily. The advantage of this is some pretty snazzy looking Digital Album Proofs, this is how you would see your album in the design stage before the production process begins. At this point changes can be made to the layout and pictures, the initial design is done by me but people can make a reasonable number of changes if they prefer something a little different.

So, what do you think? I’m over the moon with them :)

If you’d like to take a look in person just get in touch just get in touch and I’ll arrange a time with you to meet up, it doesn’t matter if your wedding is past, present or future, you don’t even need to have booked us for your photography, if you’re interested in an Album I am itching to show people.

I have a busy couple of weeks coming up, starting this weekend with a studio session with my favourite 3 tear away subjects! I am also going to try and find the time to write up the Studio session I did back in December with Stef & Joe, I’m not sure where all the time is going to at the moment!!!!

Lost in the Web

This week I have mostly been fiddling with web pages.

I started off the week putting a bit of polish on the new Shop, where you can now order prints online, download high resolutions pictures and even pay booking fees and order Wedding Albums.

Then it was a complete re-write of the whole site, although nothing that you see has changed lots has gone on in the background and I’ll now be able to add lots more content to the site. Lots of hard work, and back where I started! In the coming few weeks I have some new sections to add, so keep a look out.

And today I’ve been rebuilding Katy’s website for her. She needed a change that matched her current business cards and flyers, and an overall simplification of the site while she works on something a little more substantial. Simple, colourful and effective was the order of the day…

So it’s been a pretty packed week of computer geekyness and I am looking forward to getting back behind the camera next week. I have some studio time booked to work on some product photography, and I may work on a little video too. Until then, enjoy yourself and don’t slip on that ice!

A Winter Wonderland with Katy

Two blog posts in one day!!! I must be mad!!!

I am lucky enough to live just around the corner from aspiring model and top Hair & Makeup Artist Katy, and we both found ourselves with little to do this afternoon so we popped just around the corner to our local park to have some fun in the snow. We then came back here for a nice cup of tea to warm ourselves through while we looked at the results in Lightroom.

Katy was in need for some commercial shots for her model portfolio, so the theme as just fun and cheesy. So that is what we did…

“Cooeee”

I really like this one, Katy just being Katy :)

This is a concept I had a while ago, luckily Katy found a magic box of light and we were able to give it a whirl ;)

We turned the cheese factor to Max for this one! Also notice Katy’s lovely slim shadow and my massive fat stumpy shadow, gotta work on that!

It was great fun today. nice, easy and quick! I think we were all done within 40 minutes. Sometimes I think it’s best to keep things quick and simple.

As I said Katy is also a talented Hair & Makeup artist, and I would recommend her services for weddings, model shoots and just about anything else that needs Hair & Makeup goodness.

If anyone else is up for a snow shoot while we still have it then drop me a line :)

Kate & Mark – The Perfect Christmas Wedding

Just a few days before Christmas we photographed Kate & Mark’s wedding. When we set off it was already snowing and it continued right through the ceremony and into the evening. Of course the weather at the moment has got us all used to snow on the ground, but it wasn’t expected at that time of year.

The weather didn’t get in the way of a fantastic day, and everything even ran to time which I found quite amazing really. Here are some highlights from the day…

Here I have caught Warren capturing the day. We are looking forward to shooting his marriage to Louise in the Summer

Kate & Mark braved the cold for some unique wedding photographs.

The Holiday Inn in Bolton has an amazing function room built in the shell off an old church.

It was just a little bit cold outside, so we squeezed everyone inside for a nice group shot.

First on the dance floor!

This was taken during the 30 seconds they were all still enough :)

I love live music at weddings, and these guys really rocked the whole place.

This shot shows the mix of old and new at the venue, it’s an impressive place, especially for a city centre venue.

For each couple I put together a highlights slideshow, which contains some of the best moments from the day. You can see Kate & Mark’s slideshow above. Friends, family and guests can see the full set of pictures and order prints over at Mark & Kate’s Wedding Website.
