It is always a total pleasure to work at Hawkstone Hall, especially when it’s just around the corner for me (in Shropshire terms anyway!). So when I got a last minute call from the amazing Bhavna Barratt to join her there, I was instantly excited!
My day started to Ian and the boys, there was going to be a couple of outfit changes in the day. First up was the traditional registrar style ceremony and then later in the day a full blown Hindu ceremony back on the exact same spot. I always enjoy being the seconds photographer as it’s a chance to hang back slightly and capture the smaller details of a wedding. I’m not having to worry about a list of photographs or the couples expectations, I just have to be in the right place at the right time and do the best job I can.
Hawkstone Hall is the perfect backdrop for a wedding as big as this. I am very lucky to have worked here a few times. You can often find me helping out the firework crew there when I’m not photographing a wedding, another passion I am lucky enough to find an outlet for right on my doorstep.
It was a packed day, not a quiet moment the whole day. Always something to photograph. The mood of the entire day changed when everyone changed outfits, all of a sudden the place was filled with colour! Such a nice contrast to have within one day. I really enjoyed the Asian Fusion vibe that was going on.
What a total joy it was to be there with Bhavna to capture Hetvi & Ian’s special day for them! The most welcome of last minute surprises.
